Why We Started

Snow sports thrive when instructors can build long-term careers and beginners get the right first experience. Yet, across the industry, many instructors only stay for a season or two. When they leave, so does valuable knowledge and teaching experience.

This constant turnover makes it harder for beginners—the most important group for the future of the sport—to receive the kind of lessons that inspire confidence and joy. A beginner’s first day on the snow often determines whether they return or walk away from skiing or snowboarding altogether.

Mountain Pro was created to support both sides of this equation. By giving instructors more control and a fairer share of their work, we encourage them to stay, grow, and keep teaching year after year. In turn, beginners benefit from experienced, motivated coaches who can provide safe, positive, and memorable first steps into snow sports—laying the foundation for a lifetime of participation.

How It Works

  1. Discover – Profiles feature certifications, teaching style, and student reviews
  2. Connect – In-app chat allows riders to set goals before committing
  3. Ride – Stripe-secured payment and e-waiver are finalized automatically; meet slope-side and start progressing
  4. Reflect – Post-lesson feedback helps students track growth and instructors refine their craft

Working With Resorts

When demand spikes or guests need niche expertise, Mountain Pro provides an on-demand overflow pool while respecting each mountain’s policies.

Examples include:

  • Off-peak time slots

Riders continue to purchase lift tickets directly from the resort, supporting hill traffic and operations.
