As far as guide training goes; the more complicated the better! On my days off this summer, I’ve been taking full advantage of the learning opportunities that the Mont Blanc range presents.

Our first specimen is a clip put together by Ross Berg of he and I on the Traverse d’Entreves on the Franco-Italian border. This ridge traverse is a mega-classic guiding route, to say the least!

This morning, Mark Allen and I took our matching OR Ferossi Hoodies and Helium Jackets over to the Aiguille Verte. Poor weather conditions and an emphasis on guide training turned our attention to the complex crest of the Grands Montets ridge. A truly great objective with much less traffic than many of the other routes in the area. We had a blast winding our way up-down-and around the many spires and gendarmes.

I have exactly one week left here in Chamonix with a final work blast right at the end just to keep me on my toes. Check back for more updates.
