Fall is rock climbing season

Sep 9th, 2008 by mikebromberg

After a very cold, windy, and snowy week in Wyoming’s wind river range, I made it back to Colorado for the beginning of what is sure to be a solid fall rock climbing season. Yesterday cbmg guides John Mackinnon and Kyle mattingly and I made a trip out to the black canyon for a training climb on the exciting Russian Arete (IV 5.9). Stay tuned for some pics of the adventure.

Mike, glad to hear you’re getting out climbing. I’m back in Fort Collins training and working for a week or so. Picked up a copy of Kiss or Kill and it’s a cold cup of water to the face for sure… I climb the Sharkstooth with Ed Crothers the 16th (my first Alpine rock climb) then head to Grand Staircase Escalante with Alex and Dan P. for a week long adventure (Box Death Hollow) before our CMC classes start. Thanks again for all your input and instruction in the Winds. Keep in touch about ski-mountaineering instruction this winter.

    Thanks again,

    Kevin Landolt
